a work in progress

I don't normally share anything until I am totally happy with it, but as this card fits with today's "A Cut Above" online card class (dry embossing) then I thought I'd show you my progress so far. My daughter's piano teacher is a huge fan of Apple. HUGE fan! And so I thought she'd love these notecards I'm making for my daughter to give to her at the end of term. Here's the card so far:

Supplies: Dies - Papertrey Ink apple, Spellbinders circles

This is just a tad CAS! I don't think I've had such a short supply list before! I computer generated the sentiment then embossed a circle die before adding the apple icon with dimensional adhesive. The apple icon comes from a Papertrey Ink die with the leaf and a stalk attached, but I just scooped that part of the die cut out with my scissors and then cut out the leaf part and added it separately. The "bite" out of the apple uses a 3/4 inch circle punch but I think it's a little too large and so I'm on the hunt for a 1/2 inch one. I'm intending making a dozen or so of these and dressing them up for gift giving. So not a completed project yet, but the idea is there.

Haaaa... too cute! What about using one of the smallest Spellbinders circles instead of a punch?

Oh -- she's just going to love this set of apple cards!
I noticed some washi tape with the keyboard numbers and symbols above them. (http://www.stampington.com/shoppe/washi_tapes.html) If you didn't want to spoil the white perfection of your card, perhaps you could dry emboss some of these types of symbols?
I love it just the way it is though!

Hi Stephanie J, I did try the spellbinders smallest circle but it's actually quite large! I've borrowed a couple of hole punches from a friend so will see how they go :)

Sleek lines, clever, clean, never-been-done-before. Methinks Steve would approve.
